The Kenton County Fiscal Court appointed Kurt Greivenkamp to the position of Kenton County Treasurer at their meeting on Feb. 27. Greivenkamp will take over the position from Roy Cox, who announced his retirement earlier this month, assuming the role on July 1. Greivenkamp has served as assistant treasurer for the county for seven years.
“Since I joined the county, I’ve always respected Roy’s leadership and the way he’s run our department. I’m honored to be his successor and look forward to building upon the foundation the fiscal court has laid over the past nine years to make Kenton County one of the Commonwealth’s best communities,” Greivenkamp said in a press release from the county.
The county will look to fill the role of assistant treasurer between now and when Greivenkamp takes on his new role in July.
“The role of treasurer is vital to our county operations, and we were fortunate to have someone as qualified as Kurt already on our team and prepared to step into this important position,” Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann said in the same release. “I look forward to seeing what ideas he brings to the office and working with him to further improve upon Kenton County’s strong financial position.”
The three county commissioners, Jon Draud, Beth Sowell and Joe Nienaber, expressed similar sentiments.
